Overview & scope

Bevry was developed over several semesters by a team of five Master’s students. The aim was to create a mobile-first web application with complete recipe management features, while also building a consistent brand identity and marketing strategy. The outcome is a dynamic platform that blends robust functionality with a clear and recognizable design language.

Bevry is a mobile-first web app that allows cocktail lovers to discover, create, and share recipes in an engaging way. Unlike conventional recipe apps, it emphasizes social and group-oriented features – from likes and comments to party games – making mixology more interactive. Users can customize their profiles, track their bar inventory, explore new drinks, and enjoy playful extras, all brought together in one central hub.

Key features

  • Mini-games for both singleplayer and multiplayer, ideal for solo fun or parties
  • Personalizable accounts and profiles
  • Create, edit, delete, and browse cocktail recipes
  • Favorites, ratings, likes, and comments
  • Search and filter options by ingredients, popularity, or category
  • Privacy settings for personal recipes
  • Bar inventory and shopping list with smart recommendations

More Details

Bevry is designed for a wide range of target users, from casual drinkers to dedicated mixologists, who want to discover new cocktails, share their own creations, or host a fun night with friends.

Before development began, we defined Bevry’s brand identity, including logo, typography, and a color palette inspired by fruity freshness and playful bubbles. To support its positioning as a vibrant, community-driven app, both a marketing landing page and a comprehensive brand book were created.

Learnings

Bevry was one of the most challenging and rewarding projects of my studies. It required much more than coding a web app – we had to shape a complete brand identity, design a cohesive system, and ensure the experience felt authentic at every touchpoint. Working with specialists in photography, graphic design, and animation gave me valuable insight into how different disciplines can come together to create a unified product.

The final result is a platform that doesn’t just function well, but also stands out through its design and atmosphere. Bevry shows how cocktails can become an interactive and social experience. For me, the project was a chance to grow both technically and creatively, while also learning to coordinate diverse skills and keep the bigger picture in focus.
