Overview & scope
The scope of MoneyMate covers both individual and shared financial management, providing users with intuitive tools to track income, expenses, and budgets while managing group spending seamlessly. The app was designed with a focus on clarity, usability, and playful yet practical interaction, ensuring that users can quickly understand and navigate their finances.
Using Adobe XD, an interactive prototype was created to visualize the app’s flow, layout, and key features. This prototype allowed for testing and refining user interactions, helping to validate design decisions before moving into development. The project demonstrates a full design-to-prototype workflow, highlighting both interface design and user experience considerations.

More Details
In addition to the core functionalities, MoneyMate emphasizes interactive and user-centered design. Using Adobe XD, an interactive prototype was developed to simulate key user flows, including expense entry, group balance updates, and financial overviews. Visualizations such as charts and graphs were incorporated to make financial data more accessible and engaging.
The design also considered responsive layouts and consistent component usage to ensure a cohesive experience across different devices. Attention was given to micro-interactions and feedback mechanisms, making tasks like adding expenses or settling group balances intuitive and satisfying. Overall, the project demonstrates not only feature planning and interface design but also the translation of concepts into a functional, testable prototype that effectively communicates the user experience.

Learnings
Working on MoneyMate was my first end-to-end app design project in Adobe XD, giving me hands-on experience with the complete design process. I learned how to structure an app from the ground up, including mapping user flows, designing interfaces, and creating interactive prototypes.
The project strengthened my understanding of user-centered design, especially how to make complex features like group expense management intuitive and engaging. I also gained experience in translating conceptual ideas into visual and interactive elements, testing interactions, and iterating based on usability considerations. Overall, the project taught me how to think holistically about app design, balancing functionality, aesthetics, and user experience in a single cohesive product.
